Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock share a kiss and an award

Amidst the snooze-fest that were VH1’s Critics’ Choice Awards this past Friday, Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock spiced things up when they, after tying for Best Actress for Julie & Julia and The Blind Side, respectively, mock-fought and resolved by spontaneously smooching onstage. Sandra Bullock, after exclaiming, “This is bull—t” for having to share her award, approached Meryl Streep with a wide-open mouth and forced her lips onto Meryl’s. It’s unclear whether Bullock was going in for a make out with Streep or trying to devour her face, but it is clear that the two leading ladies looked like they enjoyed it. Bullock even closed her silly acceptance speech with “I don’t know what to say, but Meryl’s a good kisser!” I’ll bet she is.

Other winners included Mo’Nique for Best Supporting Actress in Precious and director Kathryn Bigelow for The Hurt Locker.

Though the rest of the night was quite tame, comedienne Sarah Silverman and out singer Adam Lambert‘s gay-friendly introduction for Best Comedy was hilarious. Silverman lamented that she was sick of people defining her solely by her attraction to the opposite sex, when there is so much more to her than her love for “scissoring with dudes.” Hats off to Miss Silverman for poking fun at America’s obsession with celebrities’ queerness, namely Lambert’s at the moment. The show was basically a pep rally of sorts – led by head cheerleader Kristin Chenoweth – for the Golden Globes. Did you catch any of the buzz around the Meryl/Sandra kiss? Was it hotter than the 2003 MTV VMA Madonna/Britney kiss?
