Morning Brew – Thurs. Sept. 6: Naya Rivera on kissing Heather Morris, Jillian Michaels on being out in the public eye

Good morning!

The Real L Word‘s Romi Klinger went on Dr. Drew‘s HLN show last night and talked about receiving hate mail, having daddy issues and how getting sober had her rethinking men.

I hope no one who watched that show thinks all lesbians hate bisexual women, that Romi’s back to men because she needs a man to protect her, or that being an alcoholic leads to lesbianism. On that note, here’s a clip of Romi and Dusty from tonight’s season finale.

Meanwhile, Sara’s parents are in town for the wedding.

Naya Rivera talked with The Hollywood Reporter about Season 4 of Glee. So what’s Brittana up to?

At the start of the season, they’re definitely still together – she’s at the high school dealing with all the new people and Santana is at Louisville dealing with her new schedule there. It’s a completely new thing for her and she’s really focusing on cheerleading and trying not to think about the fact that she does miss everyone. It’s definitely a struggle, as is any long distance relationship and they will be dealing with that new challenge. I know she misses her and she definitely makes time to visit Brittany. I do hope that they’re in it for the long-run, but as with any long-distance relationship, it has its challenges – especially when you’re still in high school.

She also talked about kissing her co-star Heather Morris:

A lot of times Heather and I will be in a scene and we have free reign to kiss each other if we see fit but a lot of the times – especially since they are still in high school and my character was still dealing with this secret [her sexuality] that just got ou[t], we would tread lightly on when we would have PDA moments. A lot of times as actors it just doesn’t fit; you don’t just want to make out to make out.

Since Brittany will be singing Britney Spears’ “Gimme More” this season, I can only imagine what she’s thinking about!

Carey Mulligan looks dashing in the new issue of Another magazine.

Out Paralympics competitor Claire Harvey lost along with her volleyball team to Japan yesterday, but says she is readying for Rio in 2016.

Our brother site has a video tribute to Ellen DeGeneres, which includes some great older clips of Ellen doing stand-up. The long hair!

Logo has released the names of Wanda Sykes panelists/guests for the first of her two upcoming election specials, NewNowNext Vote with Wanda Sykes, and I am psyched that Hilary Rosen is among them. Otherwise it’s a male-heavy list including Barney Frank, MSNBC Thomas Roberts and Obama campaign co-chair Joe Solmonese.

K’s Choice will be releasing two new albums on September 18. If you’re a fan of Sarah Bettens, you’re as excited as I am.

Jillian Michaels was on Larry King Now talking about why her partner Heidi decided to be the birth mother and how she feels about being out in the public eye.

Does anyone else think Bob Harper is her baby daddy?
