Morning Brew: Paige McCullers is back in Rosewood, America’s most famous church is ready for your gay wedding

Good Morning, Brewbies! If you watched The Lying Game after Pretty Little Liars last night, you got a sneak peek of Paige McCullers in next week’s episode, “Mona Mania.” If you did not watch The Lying Game, no big deal; ABC Family has already released the clip to the YouTubes.

It’s so crazy watching parents actually parent on this show now!

Yesterday Fox announced that it has renewed Bones for a 700th season, and so bisexual beauty Angela Montenegro will be on our TVs until at least 2014. (Does anyone still watch Bones? I think I heard Brennan kidnapped her own child at one point?)

Washington D.C. National Cathedral, the most famous church in America, is ready to let you get gay married now. It will be one of the first Episcopalian congregations to offer the marriage sacrament to LGBT folks. The decision is a deeply symbolic one, as the National Cathedral is considered America’s National House of Prayer, and is the place of both mourning and celebration for the loss and coronation of the nation’s presidents. (It is also the seat of two very important bishops.) According to the church’s dean, the decision is about “being faithful to the kind of community that Jesus would have us be … As a kind of tall-steeple, public church in the nation’s capital, by saying we’re going to bless same-sex marriages, conduct same-sex marriages, we are really trying to take the next step for marriage equality in the nation and in the culture.”

Ryan Andresen, the openly gay teen and 12-year Boy Scout who was denied his Eagle Scout rank last year because of his sexual orientation, has finally been awarded the ranking by his local chapter. However, the San Francisco-based group to which Ryan belongs did it in direct defiance of the national organization. It’s the first time a regional group has challenged the national establishment and the decision came after nearly half a million signatures were received on Ryan’s Change.org peteition, and also after Ellen DeGeneres and Anderson Cooper spoke on his behalf.

One of AfterEllen’s favorite international soaps, Las Aparicio, began filming a movie late last year in Xalapa, Veracruz and some photos have finally surfaced online of Julia and Mariana. (Thanks to AE reader Barbsbhg for the tip!)

The North American Old Catholic Church, a progressive offshoot of the Roman Catholic Church, will ordain its first transgender priest later this month. Shannon T.L. Kearns, who transitioned from female to male during seminary, will serve a Minneapolis-based church. According to GLAAD: “The North American Old Catholic Church … ordains women, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, married and partnered people, and those who have been divorced. The North American Old Catholic Church focuses on social justice and developing new parishes.”
