Morning Brew – Friday, September 24: Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones sing their love for one another, Kim Peirce’s new project

Morning brewsters!

We finally have a premiere date for the UK’s new lesbian series Lip Service: Tuesday October 12, 10:30-11:30 pm on BBC Three. The countdown has begun!

Parks & Recreation co-stars Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones went on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to sing about their love for one another.

Yeah, I still can’t wait for Rashida to play gay in My Idiot Brother. She and Zooey could do that song in the film, too! This just gave me so many ideas.

Now that Big Brother has ended for good in the UK, past housemates came out for a party at London’s Embassy club this week. In attendance, lesbian contestants Shabby and Lady Sovereign, who came out while on Celebrity Big Brother.

This has to be Jane Lynch’s best year ever. Only months after winning an Emmy, she’s going to be honored by the LA Gay & Lesbian Center with their Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award at their gala in November. Congrats, Jane!

Out director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) has a new project in the works. She’ll be working with Universal on the adaptation of the fantasy novel Wicked Lovely which “follows a teenage girl who has seen invisible yet dangerous faeries her entire life. Her grandmother instructs her to ignore them so they won’t attack, but eventually the heroine decides to go against everything she’s been taught in order to confront a world that she was raised to fear.” It’s definitely something different for Peirce, and I can’t wait to see what she does with it.

Beth Ditto told TV host Ferne Cotton she’s tired of having to talk about her weight.

“I’m not an unhealthy person and I feel like one of the most tiring parts of being fat and being proud of it is…you do a lot of proving yourself all the time. It’s really interesting to me that people will look at a thin person and go, ‘That’s a healthy person.’ I want to go, ‘Come open my refrigerator and look and then let’s talk about what you think is so bad.’ To be thin and to stay really thin, sometimes… some people literally do coke all the time. Some people smoke cigarettes instead of eating. That’s crazy. But that’s ‘okay’ because you look healthier.”

If you need further proof Beth is fierce, check out her new line for Evans, which includes the dress she’s wearing above.

Nicol Paone has joined the cast of the new web series Cowgirl Up. She’s the latest addition to the project, which also stars Marnie Alton, Mandy Musgrave and B.J. Fletcher’s Vanessa Dunn. Here’s Mandy with a message for you.

Check out more about Cowgirl Up at tellofilms.com.

On the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim Zolciak will address her flirtation with bisexuality/DJ Tracy Young. Here’s a sneak peek.

Kim’s “I slept with a woman, so what? Get over it” would have been acceptable if she hadn’t later gone on the cover of US Weekly to give the details.

Screaming Females’ out frontwoman Marissa Paternoster recently gave The New Gay a looksee into her tour van.

Not so glamorous, but probably a lot of fun.

What? Not enough videos yet? OK fine – here’s one of Anyone But Me star Rachael Hip-Flores singing a song.

Today on TV: Catch Carly Pope on Outlaw (NBC 10p.m.), Sex and the City’s episode “The Cheating Curve” (TBS 1:30 a.m.) where Charlotte falls in with a group of high-powered lesbians, a marathon of America’s Next Top Model Cycle Five with Kim Stolz (Bravo 10 a.m.), the Roseanne episode where Nancy comes out as gay (“Ladies’ Choice,” Oxygen 10:30 a.m.) and Mullholland Drive on Starz at 7:30 p.m.

Also this weekend, a Buffy marathon of episodes featuring Willow and Tara on Logo. I know you own them on DVD already, but why not just watch them on the tube for old times’ sake?

Have a great weekend!
