Morning Brew – Thursday, Feb. 17: Cheryl Cole to duet with “girl crush” Rihanna, two moms in a real modern family on “GMA”

Hi friends!

Good Morning America is running a regular segment called Real Modern Family and today’s was the Berman-Kotlers, with two moms and one gay dad.

Those kids almost make me rethink my disdain for other people’s children. (Not yours, though. Only the ones that kick my seat on the airplane or cry during movies.)

Room in Rome is coming to DVD next Tuesday. Will you be grabbing your own copy? Let me warn you, it’s not a good one to watch with the parents.

Heather Morris is on the cover of American Cheerleader magazine this month. Does this mean you might buy it for the first time ever?

Rihanna once said that she has a crush on Cheryl Cole, and now it looks like the two might be recording a duet together. At the Brit Awards this week, Cheryl announced: “‘And the winner of the Best International Female solo artist is, my girl crush, what’s her name? Rihanna.” She later told the press:

I love her. I would love to do a performance with her and do a single with her. I would love to do a record with her. She feels the same. There could be wheels, there could be motions.

“Te Amo: Part 2”? I’m in.

Out TV host Jane Velez-Mitchell has released her new book, Addict Nation. And no, it’s not possible to be too addicted to AfterEllen.com, I asked.

Jane also talked about coming out and being out on air this week.

The Kids Are All Right is playing in Singapore, but under some restrictions. It’s been rated category R21, which a Monsters and Critics writes “applies to ‘films that may contain adult issues, themes and more explicit scenes.” It’s also only playing at one theater. But if you live in Singapore and that theater isn’t super close to you, let me warn you: It’s not really that explicit, if that’s what you’re looking for.

British photographer Sonalle has a new exhibit called Ethnic Minorities Coming Out, which you can see on her website. Each portrait is accompanied by the individual’s story.

If you are in Hackney, you can see the exhibit IRL at the Hackney Museum in Reading Lane through March 5.
