Afternoon Delight: Sara Ramirez gives a free concert in LA and get ready to Hug a Lesbian!

Good afternoon, women of the world! Tomorrow is a holiday so I assume you will all be skipping work and school to celebrate “Hug A Lesbian Day.” The rules of “Hug a Lesbian Day” are as follows: find a lesbian and hug her, and if she’s standing with her girlfriend, just hug her and then run away really fast.

Since you’ll just be wandering around hugging lesbians all day why don’t you check out Dr. Callie Torres – I mean, Tony Award winner Sara Ramirez – who is performing at the Los Angeles outdoor shopping mall, The Grove tomorrow, Tuesday, March 15, at 2:30 pm.

The outdoor concert is free and I will be in the front row gazing up at Ramirez. Maybe she’s stretching out her vocal chords for the March 31 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, dubbed “Grey’s Anatomy: The Music Event.” The episode will feature the characters singing their way through “a cataclysmic event.”

Here’s an excerpt of one of the songs that will be performed by Cristina Yang:

I’m gay and in love with Meredith

Being with Owen is surely death

Meredith in her scrubs takes away my breath

I love Meredith!!! La la la!

Actress Sheetal Sheth (The World Unseen, I Can’t Think Straight) is driving audiences (gay and straight) crazy again with her newest film Three Veils.

Sheth told me that Three Veils will be the closing night film at the San Francisco International Women’s Festival in April.

It has been quite a journey and controversial for many. The dialogue that comes up from the issues that are dealt with in this film is so necessary. From being boycotted from the time of the script’s inception to it being the first film to ever deal with the struggle of an Arab, Muslim lesbian, plus address the issues of abuse and rape … It’s one of the most bold and daring films out there.

Check back later in the week for my interview with Sheth, and let me know if you have any questions you’d like me to ask her.

If you’re in the mood to “Laugh Out LoudThe Facts of Life icon Geri Jewell will be performing two comedy shows (at 5 and 8 pm) this Sunday, March 20 at the The Center’s own Renberg Theatre (1125 N. McCadden Place in Los Angeles). Jewell will be joined on stage by out comedians Erin Foley, Sandra Valls, Selene Luna, Julie Goldman and many more.

Rumor has it that Jewell is a filthy dirty comic. Why does this information intrigue me so?

Gossip Time! Black Swan star Mila Kunis spoke out against the rumors that she broke up Justin Timberlake‘s relationship with Jessica Biel. Too bad, Kunis and Biel would make a mega-hot couple (as demonstrated by amazing Photoshop skills on display below).

To round out this addition of Afternoon Delight, here’s the Lesbian Photo of the Day:

Out comedian and actress Lily Tomlin hitched a ride and celebrated at the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras parade. I could never wear the color orange, but she really pulls it off!

Now start stretching! There are a lot of lesbians to hug!
