Morning Brew – Thursday, April 28: New “Pretty Little Liars” poster for Season 2, Jane Lynch joins “Three Stooges” film

Happy Thursday!

Pretty Little Liars has released a new poster for Season 2. You like?

Former Belmont University women’s soccer coach Lisa Howe (who was famously fired for being a lesbian and her partner being pregnant) has welcomed the new baby that caused the firestorm. Lisa’s partner Wendy Holleman gave birth to 7-pound, 15-ounce Hope this week. Congrats!

The producers of New Zealand soap Shortland Street are taking some heat for having a character say something is “so gay.” Producer Steven Zanoski argues:

In this case “so gay” was used by the teenager Ula. This character has previously argued that being gay is ok after spreading rumours about her boyfriend’s sexuality. Mistakenly thinking her mother was a lesbian, Ula went to efforts to set her up with Nicole, the bisexual next-door neighbour. Ula is one of the least homophobic roles we have so when she says something is “gay” she is using it to mean gauche — not as a pejorative at all.

Wow her life sounds complicated and full of possibly gay people. Maybe she shouldn’t be saying it, then, Steven.

Jane Lynch has joined the cast of the new Three Stooges film. She’ll be playing a nun; specifically Mother Superior “who runs the orphanage where the [Stooges] grow up, despite her best efforts to get them adopted.” This movie could be hilarious or disastrous, but Jane will likely be the best part either way.

The Rainbow Noise rappers have released a new video for the song “Talk of the Town.” If you liked “Imma Homo,” you’ll probably like this one, too.

Taylor Momsen went on Chelsea Lately the other night, where she discussed, among other things, a lesbian orgy she participated in.
