Morning Brew – Friday, August 19: Deena brings a girl home on “Jersey Shore,” Vanessa Carlton on “Conan”

On this week’s episode of Jersey Shore, Deena brought a girl home. If it wasn’t so ridiculous, it might be offensive. The very drunk girl was first talking to the Situation and later began making out with Deena.
While she was in Deena’s bed, Deena left the room for a second and the girl jumped over to Vinnie’s bed. Don’t worry, she comes back.
Meanwhile, Deena tells the camera she’s not a lesbian — she’s bi-curious. And Snooki, who is known to make out with girls when she’s a little tipsy, tells the girl she’d totally make out with her, too, if she were feeling lesbionic. Here’s the full episode. Jenny Shimizu was interviewed by StyleCaster, and she talked about her entry into the modeling world, her charity work and the current state of the industry. Here’s what she had to say about the latter:
…I’m back in the swing of things and being a booker now at Women Direct, it’s really interesting that I come back in a community and there’s this whole resurgence of older women models, of older, bigger models, of the ’90s models coming back. It’s very…I’m so happy because even I stopped reading magazines from the late ’90s to almost 2005. I was like, this is so boring, I don’t know who these people are. I’m not so much interested…in seeing celebrities on the cover of magazines and I understand that it’s a business so it sells, but I really am hoping that we do get back to the models being more interesting…not them being more interesting, but that we give them time to be more interesting and make them a personality and I’m really excited about the next couple years.
The other day I told you Colbie Callait will be playing Lesley Gore on The Playboy Club. This week, she performed on America’s Got Talent and talked about the guest starring role.
Candy Bar Girls‘ Christina has a dad who is famous in the UK. His name is Jean-Christophe Novelli and he’s a chef. The Daily Mail has an article about him where he says he’s proud of his daughter, and that he knew she was gay before she came out to him.
Vanessa Carlton performed “I Don’t Want to Be a Bride” on Conan the other night. She was joined by some tiny helpers.
I wonder if anyone who wants to propose to Vanessa will refrain from now on.
