Afternoon Delight: Jasika Nicole dishes on the new season of “Fringe,” “2 Broke Girls” gets a full-season order
Happy birthday to Walking Madison‘s Elisabeth Shue and the pink Power Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson. My appreciation of Shue’s performance in Adventures in Babysitting back in 1987 confirmed my gayness.

Speaking of Curve magazine, out DJ Tracy Young is the October cover girl. Young, who had a brief fling with The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Kim Zolciak is apparently setting “the record straight.” Get it? “Record” since she’s a DJ and “straight” since she’s gay. I love the play on words!
Congratulations to Liz Feldman! The out writer/producer’s CBS series 2 Broke Girls has been given a full-season order. Are you watching this show (or at least reading Dorothy Snarker‘s SnapCaps)?
On last night’s episode of Suburgatory a “mean girl” accused high school student Tessa of being a lesbian (she’s not). Tessa, played by Jane Levy, then promptly made out with a boy in a game of truth or dare. (Too bad! Tessa is an adorable little redhead.)
A new study reveals that openly gay job applicants are 40% less likely to be called in on an interview. Harvard researcher Andras Tilcsik comprised resumes some with LGBT organizations listed and others with progressive organizations and discovered that resumes without sexuality references had an 11.5 percent chance of scoring an interview, while the resumes with a reference to the applicant’s sexuality only received a 7.2 percent.
Fringe star Jasika Nicole dished to the Examiner on Olivia and Astrid’s new and improved work relationship. Nicole said,
I think that it’s long overdue, to be honest with you, and I think we both really love it. I think we always thought it was a little strange that there were two women that worked together that never – they didn’t seem to have much of a relationship. They didn’t seem to not be friends, but they didn’t seem to be friends either. You just didn’t get these kinds of scenes in the previous seasons. And I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that Peter isn’t around, and so Astrid has become Olivia’s confidante. You know, she’s taken over the role that Peter used to have.
Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain, If These Walls Could Talk 2) stars as the icon Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn. Check out the film’s theatrical trailer below.
Action star Milla Jovovich is at it again. This time she wields weapons while weearing a corset in The Three Musketeers. Jovovich and her Matrix-esque moves hit theaters on Friday, October 21.
This morning, EW revealed some press photos for Snow White (the film without Kristen Stewart.) This version stars a pixie-haired Lily Collins (Abduction) as the apple-eating princess and Julia Roberts as the evil yet very attractive queen.
Not to be a pervert, but Robert’s throne picture kind of looks like an upside-down vagina. Am I the only one who sees this?
Just a reminder that Glee‘s Idina Menzel will be performing on my birthday (October 22) at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. And on Sunday, October 23, 30 Rock‘s Jane Krakowski will be taking the stage at the LA Phil Walt Disney Concert Hall.
