Ellen DeGeneres is on the cover of October’s Good Housekeeping. The talk show host discusses her faith, her mother, Betty, and claims that she wasn’t a funny kid. (I find that hard to believe.)

Stephanie Sigman stars in the title role in Miss Bala, about “a young woman clinging on to her dream to become a beauty contest queen in a Mexico dominated by organized crime.” Check out the sexy and disturbing trailer below. (I participated in the Windsor, CT Miss Shad Derby Pageant but the only crime I dealt with was not taking home the crown.)

Sucker Punch‘s Vanessa Hudgens recently blogged about her love for the film Black Swan. Hudgens said, “Black Swan I will always love. Natalie Portman is such a talented actress and I love the art house factor in the film. I watch it over and over.” Which LGBT films have you watched more than once?

Tonight, the all female directed series Five will premiere at 9 p.m. on Lifetime. From the website: “The groundbreaking original movie is an anthology of five short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on people’s lives.” I recommend you watch this series with a box of tissues.

The sketch comedy show will run for two nights only, so if you want to see Paone in action buy your tickets for Thursday, October 27 at 10 p.m. or Monday, December 5 at 8 p.m. (at The Groundlings Theater 7307 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles, CA).

Congratulations to Shirley MacLaine! The iconic actress will be honored by The American Film Institute with its 40th Life Achievement Award. The actress will receive her award on June 7 in Los Angeles. Did you see her in the 1961 lesbian film The Children’s Hour?

Out actress, comedian and author Geri Jewell shares her Ger-isms with The Huffington Post. First up, “Geri-ism # 1: The Rainbow.” Do you know how the rainbow came to represent the LGBT community?
