Morning Brew – Wed. June 20: Ellen Page in a suit, Amber Heard in “Paranoia”

Morning!

Let’s start with this.

Oh hi, Ellen Page in a suit. A huge thanks to my friend Elisa for sending me a link. In other news, To Rome With Love opens this weekend and I’m so going to see it.

Gaming Bus has a great GLBT history of video games. I haven’t heard of some of these and I feel like I need to find them ASAP, like Summon Night and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I’ve never been a Star Wars fan until I found out you could be Juhani the lesbian in the Bioware game.

Amber Heard has scored a new starring role in Paranoia alongside Liam Hemsworth. The out actress will have a one night stand with Liam’s character (yawn) but ends up being part of a huge scheme going on around him. Sounds like The Game starring Michael Douglas, which I’ve always loved.

I can’t believe we’re still wondering “Are women funny?” “Are lesbians funny?” Erin Foley, Rebecca Drysdale, Judy Gold and Lea Delaria talked with The Village Voice about how they balance the funny and the gay in their acts.

Adam Carolla is taking heat for saying men are funnier than women but he was also asked about his homophobia on The Talk yesterday. Sara Gilbert tried to put him in check but he was still a grade A asshole, per usual.

BuzzFeed makes the case for why conservatives like Rachel Maddow It’s more like “why conservatives like to fight with Rachel Maddow.” Here’s why: She’s smart, she’s fearless and she’s engaging. I’m not a conservative and I feel the same way.

Do you want to go home with Alicia Hardesty of Project Runway? SheWired tipped us off to a video of the new lesbian contestant.
