Morning Brew – Mon. Oct. 1: Jessica Capshaw on Calzona’s strength, Lana Parrilla loves lesbians

Good morning!

Last night’s episode of The Good Wife was so good, per usual. Kalinda is my spirit animal.

Moving on!

If you want to know how Jessica Capshaw felt about the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy, read this interview with the actress over at The Hollywood Reporter. Just so you know, she says Arizona and Callie are strong enough to get through this, so it’ll be OK!

A New York-based lesbian birth mom has lost custody of her daughter because her ex, the non-biological mom, was seen to be better suited as a parent. This case is the first of its kind. Equality, yay.

Lana Parrilla loves us, she really loves us! The Once Upon a Time star says:

I have a lot of LGBT friends and family members and I’ve always supported the community, not only as a child but as an adult, and I think it’s important to voice that. I think right now is the most important time for celebrities and everyone to stand up and not only vote, but use their voice. Our president is the first one who has come forward in history who supports this community…I think every celebrity needs to get involved and speak up.

Thanks Lana! We support evil queens.

Out comic/writer Carol Leifer has some inside scoop on what really goes down at the Emmys, including the fact that the booze isn’t free. Wah wahhhh.

Amber Heard looked gorgeous at a Nokia in Color event. I need that jacket.

MEN have released a video in support of Pussy Riot called “Let Them Out or Let Me In.” Party in the jail cell!

The UK’s X-Factor has some actual lesbian contestants, but there is also one, Carolynne Poole, who says she’s “a total lesbian” for judge Cheryl Cole. Someone please tell me why Cheryl Cole is the most crushed upon by straight women? I need to know.

Iceland Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir is going to be stepping down, which means I need to get over to Iceland ASAP. I want to go while it’s under lesbian rule in case I run into any trouble while stalking Bjork.
