Morning Brew – Wed. Feb. 6: Tegan and Sara interview Kate Moennig, a clip from Evan Rachel Wood’s new film

Good morning!

There was a lot of great gay marriage news yesterday, including the preliminary passings of equal marriage in Great Britain and the state of Illinois. I still can’t believe this has to happen piecemeal, but it’s happening.

Clea DuVall directed this interview Tegan and Sara did with Kate Moennig. That is quite possibly the most lesbian thing I’ve ever written.

I, too, had a crush on Luke Perry. What does it all mean!?

Comedy troupe The Flashlites thought vegetarians needed a song to sing in solidarity: “Damn I like my fake meat/I like my fake meat/Damn I like my fake meat/Mmm it’s juicy!”

Are you kidding with me with how creative A is getting with their leaving notes for the girls? Spencer doesn’t even seem impressed in this promo for next week’s Pretty Little Liars.

PLL star Shay Mitchell says she’s celebrating Valentine’s Day as a single lady.

I’m going to have dinner with my best friend. We’re going to do a single ladies’ night and celebrate enjoying life.

Did you know she was BFF with Emmy Rossum? I just found that out in Emmy’s interview in Self this month.

My new best friend Evan Rachel Wood tweeted this clip from her new film with Shia LaBeouf called The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.

Shia, your enthusiasm is shared.

LGBT ally Miley Cyrus said she’ll never have long hair again because she loves her short ‘do so much. I’m fine with that, as I love it too.

Joan Osborne is thrilled about her Grammy nomination for Best Blues album.

Any Grammy nomination is a wonderful thing. But it’s especially sweet to be recognized for an album I co-produced with my old friend Jack Petruzzelli, that features my amazing road band. It was a real home-grown labor of love on everyone’s part.

Joan will appear on Hallmark’s Home & Family, CBS Los Angeles and HuffPost Live this week.

Gabrielle Christian has a new film in the works and you can help get it made if you donate to the IndieGogo fundraiser.

There’s an interview with lesbian writer/activist/awesome person Sarah Schulman in the new issue of The Believer.
