Morning Brew – Fri. April 5: A Brazilian singer comes out, a lesbian vies for Miss South Carolina

Morning!

This Justin Bieber manipulation is presented without comment.

BuzzFeed has a piece called “How OKCupid Helped Me Explore My Bisexuality.” The writer thought she wanted a threesome, but what she wanted was to have sex with a woman.

BuzzFeed also has a piece on why Megan Rapinoe would make a great BFF. All the reasons they list could easily be in an article on why she’d make a great GF, too.

Out lesbian Analouisa Valencia is vying for the Miss South Carolina crown. I’d love to see a Miss America with a girlfriend!

If you’re watching The Voice in the UK, you might be interested in knowing that contestant Leanne Jarvis was in a 2010 lesbian vampire film called Blood Army.

Also in UK reality shows, some girl-on-girl kissing in the trailer for The Valleys.

If you have 10 minutes, catch up on where we left off with All My Children before you can watch the new web series at the end of the month.

Rosie O’Donnell talked about her cameo on Bomb Girls with Canada.com. She said of her character, reporter Dottie Shannon:

She was sort of the first feminist in a way, before the feminism movement really took hold, and she was explaining to these women that they were underpaid, that this factory was built on their backs and yet they were not getting compensated for it and that there were dangers everywhere. It’s a great character to play and she really does cause a tremendous amount of change and introspection for Meg’s character, Lorna.

I hope she has some interactions with Betty!

Slam poet Denice Frohman has some words for straight people.

Congrats to Brazilian singer Daniela Mercury! She came out by posting photos of her with her partner, journalist Malu Verçosa, and this caption on Instagram:

Malu is now my spouse, my family and my inspiration for singing.

Here’s what you’re missing at the Dinah so far this year — women talking about where they flew in from that day.

Patti Davis went on Gwissues to talk about her new lesbian-themed novel, Till Human Voices Wake Us, and also how her dad, Republic President Ronald Reagan, felt about gay issues.
