Morning Brew – Friday, April 12: Mia Kirshner at the “Defiance” upfront, Felicia Day returns to “Supernatural”

Good morning! It’s Friday!

Felicia Day returns to Supernatural for the April 24 episode “Pac-Man Fever.” The description of the episode says that the her lesbian character, Charlie “tumbles upon a case and finds the boys, Dean decides it’s time to teach Charlie how to be a hunter-in-training. While happy to see ‘her highness,’ the boys suspect Charlie is hiding something; a secret that could get her killed.” How can you kill someone wearing a cat sweatshirt?

Ke$ha was apparently having a great time with a female date at the Roosterfish Bar in Venice, California this week. Do you think she enjoys dancing to her own songs?

This is the greatest thing I heard all week: “From 1983 to grandparenthood, lesbian group shares decades of history.” They call themselves the lesbian mafia! If you have five minutes, give it a listen. Sisters are doing it for ourselves.

Meanwhile in China, lesbians are marrying gay men like it’s the 1960s.

If you are in the St. Louis area, go see leading African-American Lesbian social justice activist Mandy Carter speak this July.

And if you’re in Seattle this weekend, don’t forget about ‘Mo Wave!

Jenny Schecter Mia Kirshner attended the NYC upfront for Defiance on Wednesday.

Alana Johnson has some feelings about being gay that she expresses through song.
