Featured reader of the week:

Iann88, from the USA.

1.) When and where have you met a celebrity, or which celebrity would you most like to meet?

I was once scolded by Richard Simmons in the Newark airport. He was spazzing out at all of us who were riding the automated walkway instead of walking. That was hilarious.

I would love to meet Simone Lahbib. She is gorgeous and seems to have a sense of humor like mine so that would be fun. I certainly wouldn’t say no to meeting Gro Hammerseng and Kaatje Nyberg, Mandana Jones, Ellen DeGeneres, Wanda Sykes, Cat Cora, Crystal Chappell, Rachel Maddow, author Nora Vincent… the list goes on.

2.) What lesbian/bi pop culture character are you most like, and why?

Hmmm, probably Ellen Morgan from Ellen. I’m spastic, silly, and came out a when I was bit older (almost 27).

3.) What cd is in heavy rotation for you right now?

I’ve been listening to a wild mix of things, as usual. Right now I’m loving: “Run” (Amy MacDonald) “Lost” (VAST) “Ode To Joy” (Beecham Choral Society, Rene Liebowitz, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), “Ma Fini Fakker” (Raiomond Mirza) “Happy” (Brandi Carlile) “Wanted” (Holly Brook), “Come On Get Higher” (Matt Nathanson) “Open Your Eyes” (Snow Patrol) “Winter Song” (Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson)

And since I’m training for another half-marathon, I’ve got the hard core inspirational goodies: “Eye of the Tiger” (Survivor) “Sympathy for the Devil” (The Rolling Stones- from the TV movie The Jericho Mile) “Gonna Fly Now”- the original theme from Rocky (Bill Conti), “The Best” (Tina Turner) “Lose Yourself” (Eminem), “What A Feeling” (Irene Cara- think Flashdance).

4.) If we hacked into your DVR, what would we find?

No DVR for me, but right now I’m obsessed with all things “Otalia” from The Guiding Light.

I watch them online and am on the otaliafans website all the time. I’m also a huge foodie so I watch a lot of the Food Network. Love me some Alton Brown!

5.) When did you start reading AE, or what’s your favorite AE feature?

I’ve been a member for over 6 years. One of my favorite features from back in the day was the old timeline of lesbian TV kisses. There were not very many but I remembered them all. Now I just love keeping in the loop with things I would never hear of otherwise. My obsessions with Bad Girls, Los Hombres de Paco, and most recently Guiding Light, can all be attributed to AE. Not to mention all the movies and even the handball lovelies, Gro and Kaatje. This site is like the jumping off point for me. I come here to check out what’s new and then I go out and explore them.

Thanks for sharing, Iann88!
