Tello Films is the First Lesbian Online Network to Get an Emmy Nomination!

A big congratulations to tello films! The online lesbian network founded by Christin Baker has been nominated for an Emmy, and we are all thrilled! The nomination goes to Mindy Sterling (best known for her role as Frau Farbissina in the “Austin Powers” movies) for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series in the tello original, “secs & EXECS.” Sterling received two nominations in this category.

“We are unbelievably excited to receive this nomination,” said founder and CEO Christin Baker. “When the opportunity came to work with Mindy Sterling it was a no-brainer and now that she is nominated it was clearly a wonderful choice. She is so generous and fun. We are honored that she has a nomination from ‘secs & EXECS’.”

In the comedy, Sterling plays Shirla, “the politico, pot smoking, career assistant, in this office comedy. The shows follows the relationships between four different executives and their assistants at Kathletics, a women’s wear company. The story is told with a “Rashomon”-style, seeing two distinct points of view, the bosses and their secretaries. Sandra Bernhard, Olivia d’Abo, Daniela Bobadilla, Parvesh Cheena, Natalie Dreyfuss, Bayne Gibby, Miguel Pinzon and Travina Springer round out the cast.”

If you haven’t watched “secs and EXECS” yet, get over to Tello Films, where you can watch lesbian themed series that were created by and for women, and a show NEVER ends in the death of a lesbian character. Refreshing, right? They even took The Lexa Pledge, so you can be assured. From their website: “At tello, we create great new web content that is intelligent but fun, timely but classic, and tasteful yet sexy, a whirlwind of classic ideas from a lesbian perspective, brave and challenging content with a lesbian twist.”
