A Farewell From Your Editor in Chief, and Here’s to New Beginnings

Dear AfterEllen Readers,

Effective today, I am resigning as Editor in Chief of AfterEllen so that I can pass on the torch to a younger generation and pursue my other projects. This is not a decision I have made lightly, but have considered carefully over the last several months.

Jocelyn Macdonald will be stepping into my place, and I am so excited about this change, and so very happy for her and for AfterEllen as a whole.

I have truly enjoyed my role as Editor in Chief since 2016, and am proud of the work I have done to make AfterEllen what it is today – a platform for lesbian voices that are often absent from, or shouted down in other media. We have a diverse team of talented, intelligent writers and we have become a thriving entertainment brand for women.

Jocelyn has worked diligently over the last four years at my side, and she has the heart and passion for AfterEllen that I know will make her an excellent Editor in Chief. I could not be more proud of her, and nothing makes me feel I’ve done my job better than seeing her succeed, and this website succeed.

She began as a freelance writer back in 2017, and quickly demonstrated her writing, editing, and leadership abilities over the years, working up to Editorial Assistant, Assistant Editor, Managing Editor, and now, Editor in Chief of AfterEllen.

Congratulations, Jocelyn, and congratulations AfterEllen!
