Lady Gaga recently confirmed that she is going to play the Joker’s former psychiatrist turned sidekick, Harley Quinn, in the upcoming Joker sequel! And it’s probably going to be a musical!
In a mysterious tweet, Gaga simply wrote, “Joker: Folie à Deux 10.04.24,” along with a clip that depicts silhouettes dancing to the tune of “Cheek to Cheek,” a piece that was originally written by Irving Berlin in 1935.
“Folie à Deux” means “folly of two,” or “madness [shared] by two.” It is also a shared psychosis or shared delusional disorder; a rare syndrome where delusional beliefs, even hallucinations, are transmitted from one person to another. It hints to the relationship between Joker and Harley Quinn.
Fans went gaga over the news. One fan tweeted “OH MY GOOOOODDD MAMMMMAAA.”
But some fans worry the musical will distract Gaga from producing new tunes. One fan wrote, “does this mean no music until 2025?”

All signs point to the Joker sequel being a musical – especially now Lady Gaga tweeted silhouettes dancing to “Cheek to Cheek.” Hollywood Reporter’s sources claim there will be song and dance numbers in the sequel. Vogue even tweeted it was confirmed. But, as far as we know, nothing is written in stone.
The bros are hating that Lady Gaga is taking on the role of Harley Quinn. They’re even more furious that the Joker sequel will probably be a musical.
According to Lad Bible, one fan wrote: “Remember when Joker came out and the mass hysteria surrounding it and how there was going to be shootings and explosions at theatres but now the sequel is a musical starring Lady Gaga.”
A second added: “I’m okay with musicals but in Joker? It’s just might look “funny” like in the first movie he was dealing with insane mental issues and to the point of murdering dozens of people if he’s singing while doing it this time I’m not going to be shocked or scared imma laugh tbh.”
