In addition to tweeting about her support for this idea, she doubled down during an interview with Vanity Fair. “That’s a great idea. And the fact that it would be two women, I was like, yeah sign me on.” Let’s get this movie made, we are wo-manifesting. 

Netflix Announces Cast of Lesbian Teen Vampire Series, First Kill

Did something awaken in you when you were 12 years old and watching Kate Beckinsale play a werewolf fight vampire or was that just me? Well, get ready 12-year-old me because we got lesbian vampires on the horizon. We mentioned First Kill a while back, but we had no details. But now we have our leads. Sarah Catherine Hook will star as Juliette, a vampire and Imani Lewis as Calliope Burns, a monster hunter. While we don’t have a release date, the series is set to start filming this year. 

Lesbian Youth Most Likely to Experience Loneliness

Just Like Us surveyed people ages 11 to 18 on their mental health. Among that group, lesbian youth reported feelings of loneliness more than any other group, with 87% saying they felt separated from their loved ones and 60% saying they felt isolation on a daily basis. This has no doubt been made worse by the pandemic. While the sample size of this study seems quite small, who among us didn’t read the heading and thought, “well I could’ve told you that for free.” There’s a reason Lesbian Loneliness™️ is a thing.

St. Vincent To Be SNL Musical Guest

Bisexual musician St. Vincent is set to be the musical guest for SNL on April 3rd, with host Daniel Kaluuya. This marks her second appearance on the show as a musical guest. Her new album, Daddy’s Home will be released on May 14th. 

New Trailer for Army of the Dead Dropped

The Netflix movie staring Dave Bautista seems to be a heist movie and a zombie flick all rolled into one. So why are we reporting on it? While she isn’t featured in the trailer, Tig Notaro will play Marianne Peters, presumably one of Bautista’s crew. The movie releases on May 21st. 

Japanese Court Rules Government Ban on Same-Sex Marriage Is Unconstitutional

On Wednesday March 17th, the Sapporo District Court ruled that the Japanese government’s refusal to grant marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples violated the constitutionally granted right to equality of same-sex marriage. However, the court dismissed a demand from the plaintiffs, two gay couples and one lesbian couple, for monetary compensation from the government. Despite this, it’s a pretty major victory and it could set the precedent for pending lawsuits in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. Could this lead to Japan becoming the second country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage? We can sure hope so. 

Lesbian Couple Forced to Hide in Tesco Back Office During a Homophobic Attack

The couple were shopping at a Tesco in Gillingham, Kent on January 31, 2021 when three women hurled homophobic language towards them. The couple sought refuge in the store’s security office. On March 16th, the Kent police have confirmed they are investigating the incident as a hate crime. Because they women were wearing masks, their faces were partially obscured, making them difficult to identify. The police have released CCTV images of the women and are hoping someone can identify them.
