The filmmakers behind “3rd Street Blackout” give us the scoop on their scene-stealing lesbian character

Tonight Negin Farsad and Jeremy Redleaf‘s film 3rd Street Blackout will play at the Los Angeles Film Festival after premiering over the weekend. The film follows a group of people in the days of Hurricane Sandy, when many were without electricity, running water or any kind of technology. It’s a romantic comedy with a stellar cast (including Janeane Garofalo and Ed Weeks), and also has a “scene-stealing” lesbian character, Dubs, played by Katie Hartman.

We grabbed a few minutes with Negin and Jeremy (also the film’s stars) at LAFF’s opening night to talk about why they included a gay female character and more about 3rd Street Blackout.

Find out more about 3rd Street Blackout on their website.
