“Passing for Black” and Cristy Road’s “Bad Habits” are up for Lambda’s Lit Awards in 2008

Every year, the Lambda Literary Foundation recognizes books written by and about members of the LGBT community. This year, they’ve announced the nominees, which will eventually become a short list which will then be voted on by members of the literary community.

This year, it seems queer women have dominated in being overall the most creative, as even in their specific categories, their stories are told in the most different of ways (from graphic novels to first-person narratives to odes to The Indigo Girls). Although that will probably make it more difficult for the judges to make their decisions, it gives me a lot of reading to catch up on over the holidays.
