2015 Lambda Literary Awards honors the best Lesbian/Bi Books & Authors
Last night in New York City, the Lambda Literary Awards (or the Lammies, for short) were held to honor the best and brightest in LGBTQ literature. Hosted by Kate Clinton, the evening recognized lesbian lit pioneer Rita Mae Brown (though it’s best not to bring that up) and filmmaker/author John Waters, in addition to authors in categories including lesbian fiction, erotica, poetry, memoir and more. Top it off with performances from the Broadway musical Fun Home and singer/songwriter Toshi Reagon, appearances by Janet Mock, Gloria Steinem, Alison Bechdel, and Alan Cumming, and this year’s Lammies were a hell of a party.
Here are the winners that may be relevant to your interests, plus where you can purchase books and support these wonderful authors.
