YouTube star Ingrid Nilsen had the opportunity to interview President Obama recently where she asked him about terrorism, tampon taxes and LGBT rights. Around the 5:45 mark, Ingrid shares that “In June, I came out in a YouTube video as a lesbian, and after that, my world got a whole lot bigger, and I realized there’s still a lot of discrimination happening.” She asks the President, then, if he feels the progress we’ve made while he’s been in office is fleeting, and he assures her moves like legalizing marriage equality is “here to stay.”
