Charlize Theron Talks Her Connection With Atomic Blonde Costar Sofia Boutella

In case you missed all the buzz, Charlize has sex a scene with Sofia in her new spy movie Atomic Blonde. After the film premiered at SXSW this past weekend, the lady lovin’ session made the rounds across the internet and dominated interviews about the film.

When Theron was asked what it was like to “seduce” Sofia, she revealed:

“Seducing her? It’s very easy, she’s gorgeous! She was just great. She was the only actress that we looked at. She came over, she hung out with me and [director] Dave, and there was something about her that was so genuinely innocent and yet incredibly strong, that she was really perfect for the film.”

Given the steamy trailer, I’ll take the actress’ word for it.

The UK Celebrates Its Inaugural National Lesbian and Bisexual Women’s Health Week

Better late than never!

March 13-17 marked England’s first National Lesbian and Bisexual Women’s Health week, an initiative designed to raise awareness about a variety of important LB health issues and to celebrate dedicated LB health care providers. Not only do 36% of LB women report their doctors assume they’re heterosexual, but a scary percentage of women who have sex with women are also told they don’t need pap smears. Spoiler alert: this is NOT true. Every sexually active female, regardless of her orientation, should regularly get pap smears.

On the mental health side of things, 21% of bisexual women and 12% of lesbians reported a long-term mental health problem compared to 4% of straight women. The good news is, the founders of this campaign are working hard to rectify the inequalities LB women face in the healthcare system. The organization even went as far to provide a guide on best practices in “providing healthcare to lesbian, bisexual and other women who have sex with women”. Educate yourself HERE.

That’s a wrap!
