The CW’s new series Emily Owens M.D. follows Mamie Gummer as Emily, a new doctor who finds herself working in a hospital alongside her med school crush and her high school nemesis. She also meets Tyra (Kelly McCreary), whose dad is their boss – and who doesn’t know Tyra is a lesbian. In the pilot, which you can watch before it premieres on Tuesday, October 16, Emily tries to balance her personal and professional lives in the hospital while also trying to help Tyra find out if a nurse is gay.
