“Lip Service” gets cancelled
We’re sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there won’t be any further seasons of the lesbian series Lip Service. Although fans feared this could happen, it was finally confirmed by creator Harriet Braun today.
Sadly BBC Three have confirmed there won’t be a 3rd series of Lip Service. A huge, huge thank you to all the fans for all your support xx– Harriet Braun (@HarrietBraun) January 12, 2013
The Glasgow-based show lost two of its actresses to American pilots this year, as Lara Fraser was originally cast in Homeland and Ruta Gedmintas is part of the new NBC series Do No Harm. Fans mourned the lost of both Cat and Frankie, as they made their exits half-way through Season 2. Unfortunately, we are left without much of a resolution for many of the characters, including fan favorite Tess (Fiona Button).
No more LIp service.Thankyou to all who made it special to work on.let’s hope there are more shows with equal representation in the making.x– Ruta Gedmintas (@Mighty_Minto) January 12, 2013
Lip Service made stars out of cast members like Heather Peace (Sam), the show’s only major player who is also an out lesbian. Heather currently appears on Waterloo Road and Anna Skellern (Lexie) will next appear in a new UK series starring Sue Perkins.
