Diana Nyad took on a new challenge yesterday, beginning her 48 hour swim in a New York City pool to raise money for the victims of Superstorm Sandy. Ryan Lochte joined in the fun and Diana posted this photo of them on her Facebook.

During a New Yorker Festival panel last week Shonda Rimes talked about why she included a lesbian couple on Grey’s. Her answer:

“I just write things that I think are interesting–what feels true and interesting to me. I have lesbian friends.”

On the same panel The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King discussed keeping their cast as diverse as the city of Chicago, aka queers and people of color in existence!
