While on the surface Fox’s new Army-based sitcom Enlisted may seem to appeal to the guys, there is a woman in the mix and she’s someone we’ve seen before—Angelique Cabral.
You’ll remember the gorgeous Cabral smooching (and marrying) Emily Deschanel in the indie fan fave, A Perfect Family, that also starred Kathleen Turner as Deschanel’s Catholic mother who disapproved of her daughter’s relationship. The film was also helmed by out director Anne Renton. (Read our chat with Deschanel and Renton when the film was playing the festival circuit.)
In Enlisted, Cabral plays Sgt. Jill Perez and, as the actress told AfterEllen in West Hollywood earlier this week before an Enlisted-themed workout at popular gym Barry’s Boot Camp, she and her character are very much up to the task of competing with the men she’s surrounded by.
Cabral also reflected back on The Perfect Family and the number of gay fans she’s gained from that experience.
