Morning Brew – University of Arizona swimmer comes out as a lesbian

Good morning!

People spoke with Linda Perry about why her relationship with Sara Gilbert works so well. Their secret? Walks.

“We love to walk. That’s our fun thing to do because of exercise, and we get to walk around L.A., and we discover new things all the time.”
Cute! Meanwhile The National Enquirer spells Sara’s name wrong in the headline and insists her ex is mad at her.

Defiance will be available for streaming on Amazon, so you can watch Season 1 if you want to catch up.

Collider interviewed Tatiana Maslany about Orphan Black‘s second season. Here’s what she says on Cosima fans:

It’s interesting because Cosima has been the one that a lot of people have really gotten attached to. Especially the younger women have really gotten attached to Cosima. This next season, the stakes are very high for her because of her struggle with her illness. But, the most bizarre demographics come up to me. Men in their 50s come up to me and are like, “Alison is my favorite. I hated her at first, and now I love her.” I don’t know what that says about people’s psychology. But, I think everybody can relate to a different one. It’s awesome. It’s exciting for me.

Is Sophie Webster unlikable? A Coronation Street blog thinks she needs to grow up.

Cynthia Nixon and Amber Heard have joined the cast of The Adderall Diaries, which also includes James Franco and Christian Slater.

After a lot of back and forth, it appears Anna Paquin will appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but only very briefly as “a cameo.”

If you watched the new series Be Here Now-ish and want to know more about stars Natalia Leite and Alexandra Roxo, i-D has you covered. The two shared their ideas of a dream girl.

Natalia: A tall Australian with big curly hair who makes fried eggs in the shape of little men. Alexandra: I still am kind of in love with Paz de la Huerta. I like the messy, the imperfection of her and she oozes sex. My friend Shula Melamed (who plays my boss in Be Here Nowish) and I trade sexy pictures of Paz when we are having a hard day.

Bad news, SHIELD fans. Exec producer Maurissa Tancharoen told TVLine of Agent Hand: “She sure looked dead to us! HOWEVER, she followed up with: “This is the Marvel universe, and our show is based on the fact that a guy we thought was dead is not [dead] at all.”

In really great news, though, Masters of Sex‘s second season is ready to be super lesbian. Betty is back, but we finally get to meet her “wacky” lover Helen! TVLine says:

How wacky is she? She’s a palm reader who really, truly believes she’s a psychic. But, on the other hand, she’s also with-it enough to be unashamed of her lesbianism. And, since she’s still carrying a torch for Betty – and she’s probably the ex-hooker’s soul mate – I’d wager there’s some great material in store for whomever’s cast, as well as for [Annaleigh] Ashford and Greg Grunberg, who plays odd-man-out Gene.
Queer duo Hannah and Maggie have a new video for their song “Home As We Know It.”

University of Arizona swimmer Lauren Elizabeth Neidigh has come out as a lesbian. She wrote a great piece about being gay and coming out for Outsports. Congratulations Lauren. InsidePulse went behind the scenes of Degrassi with Cristine Prosperi, aka Imogen.

The stars of Faking It want you to know that their show is different from other LGBT offerings.

Cat Cora participated in a Reddit Q&A yesterday and discussed how she was able to come out while living in a conservative Southern town.

I came out when I was 19 to my parents, it was after a really shitty blind date with a woman and it went awry, and I was just over the secret. So I went to my parents, I actually called my mom at a dinner party and asked to come home right away, and had a heart-to-heart with her, and it was the best thing I ever did. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do, but I’m glad I did. I was very lucky, even growing up in Mississippi, no one said anything to my face. And I have a strong personality, so when I came out, I held my head up high.

Mary Lambert performed her new song “Body Love” for Vevo’s 1 Mic, 1 Take. She’s so awesome.
