Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich’s love affair will be a TV series

Out producer Megan Ellison is bringing the sapphic lives of Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich to the small screen.

The yet-to-be titled TV series will be financed by Ellison’s Annapura Pictures—the production company behind last year’s multiple Oscar nominated American Hustle—and written by Angela Robinson (The L Word, D.E.B.S., True Blood, Girl Trash) and Alex Kondracke (Hung).

The show will be a lesbian wet dream. As reported by Deadline, “the project is set in the Golden Age of Hollywood and explores the relationships of the starlets with such notable figures as John Gilbert, Mercedes de Acosta, Tallulah Bankhead, Alla Nazimova, Barbara Stanwyck, Cary Grant, and John Wayne, among others.”
