Lesbian dating app Dattch has announced their new name: HER. Says creator Robyn Exton:
Dattch was a tricky old name. From people thinking it meant Dykey-Butchy-Snatch to it being nearly impossible to spell. It didn’t represent what we are here to do, to be an app that everyone can find, everyone can relate to and everyone can feel a part of. I like dykey-butchy-snatch as much as the next queer girl, but as the name of our business, it just wasn’t right. We spent a lot of time with users of the app, in different cities and countries, to talk about names, ideas, hates and loves. But we chose a name that felt right, in our hearts, from the moment we said it.
Dattch will still work on Android for now, and HER will launch for the iPhone app soon.
