Keeley Hawes moves on from “Tipping the Velvet” to “Ashes to Ashes”

Keeley Hawes, the actress that endeared herself to lesbian viewers across the world with her brilliant performance in Tipping the Velvet is the new star of Ashes to Ashes, the sequel to the BBC time traveling hit, Life on Mars.

Ashes to Ashes is in its second season in the UK but in the States, season one premiered last month on BBC America. In the show, Keeley plays a 21st century police psychologist named Alex Drake, who is catapulted back to 1981. In the ’80s, she’s confronted with sexism and bad hair.

The amazing thing about Keeley Hawes is that you can do anything to her or her hair and she’ll still look amazing beautiful. Oh, and she gives great performances, too.
