Good morning!

Nneka Onuorah talks with NBC about The Same Difference and We Are All Women. A quote:

“A lot of places in media think our stories are irrelevant … and that same struggle happens within LGBT media sources, [which] still question why black lesbian stories are important to tell. I think that is the most unsettling part of this,” she said.

The BBC will stream Girl, the TV show that had the first-ever broadcast lesbian kiss in the UK that hasn’t been on air since it premiered in 1974. Starring Alison Steadman and Myra Frances, the series “tells the story of an affair between two female army officers.” Alison Steadman tells The Guardian:

“When I was offered the part I felt quite nervous. A completely new adventure. Never been offered anything like it before. The director, Peter Gill, was great because he didn’t fuss about the fact they were two women or that they had to kiss. He said it was just a love story.”

We’ll take what we can get, Ellen!

Taylor Schilling has never officially come out in public, but she does tell People she has “nothing to hide” when they ask about her former relationship with Carrie Brownstein. She also talks about looking for love:

“If I was in a relationship I was happy with, I’d love to talk about it. But I don’t like to date. It takes a lot for me to be into somebody. By default I’m a monogamist. I want a partner in crime.”
