Photo: Instagram, Out Magazine, Marie Claire

What a week! While a lot of lady lovin’ goodness occurred over the past seven days, my favorite piece of news is the marriage of Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli. This is the pick-me-up we all needed, people. Trust and believe I’ve been refreshing the couple’s Instagram pages over the past few days for the most up to date info on their nuptials. Prepare yourself for lots of cute photos and wedding details!

Adorable married women aside, I have lots of tidbits on Pretty Little Liars‘ final season, insight on Halsey’s new album, and a very gay trailer for a new reality series.

Samira & Lauren Are Officially Married!!!

Photo: Martha Stewart Weddings

On Sunday, Martha Stewart Weddings revealed Samira and Lauren got hitched in Palm Springs, the same place where they got engaged in October of 2016.

Guests: a small group family and close friends attended the 3/25 ceremony. In a cute twist, Wiley’s parents officiated the outdoor nuptials.

Wedding fashion: Project Runway alum Christian Siriano designed Wiley’s custom silk top with a ball gown skirt and Morelli’s custom silk jumpsuit with a detachable pearl and diamond encrusted cape.

Siriano joked about the OITNB star’s look, commenting:

“Having spent years in an orange jumpsuit, Samira really wanted to have her fairytale wedding moment and therefore opted for a more traditional look.”
Sweet Details: The theme centered around the lesbian couple’s mutual love for Funfetti cake. Not only did the duo serve Funfetti to their guests for dessert, but a blast of confetti marked their first dance.

Music: Hits included This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan and Justin Bieber’s Baby. Classic.

Honeymoon: Disneyland! On Thursday, Samira shared a shot of her personalized Mickey Mouse ears featuring her new moniker– Mrs. Morelli.

Taiwanese Father Reveals Why He Finally Accepted His Lesbian Daughter

Photo: YouTube

This round-up is officially chock full of FEELINGS.

In a very emotional video which has gone viral, a Taiwanese dad opened up about embracing his lesbian daughter. The story features a worn out plot — parents find out their child is gay –> parents freak out –> family ties splinter apart.

But wait, this tale has a PLOT TWIST!

Once the now enlightened poppa realized his homophobia was directly affecting his daughter’s happiness, he decided to drastically revamp his outlook:

“It’s one thing that we were not happy. But then I realized that our child was even unhappier than us. It didn’t matter that I was unhappy, but when my child was unhappy, that’s not acceptable to me.”
Check out the full PSA below:

Incidentally, the video coincides with Taiwan’s first constitutional case challenging the country’s same-sex marriage ban. Hopefully this sweet story compels Taiwan’s residents to reconsider its government’s unjust provisions against the LGBTQ community.

Amber Heard Wants More Celebrities To “Come Out”

Photo: Tumblr

While the bisexual actress has had her fair share of drama over the past year, it hasn’t stopped her form speaking out on LGBTQ visibility. According to Heard, she believes gay men in Hollywood have an increasing responsibility to come out now that an onslaught of famous women have embraced the concept of full transparency (Rowan Blanchard, Aubrey Plaza, Holland Taylor, etc…).

At the Pride and Prejudice Summit this past Friday, the actress reasoned:

“Women are almost entirely doing this on our own. While it is apparently harder for men, I would argue, also, that is harder because there are no men challenging that. If women can do it and we can change the way that this conversation is had in a large scale, then men should be able to do it. If every gay man that I know personally came out in Hollywood tomorrow… then this would be a non-issue in a month. We’d be hard-pressed to point the finger at anyone.”
You can listen to Heard’s personal “coming out” story and more of her musings below:

In other Amber news, on Monday the out and proud star attended Cara Delevingne’s private movie trailer premiere (Valerian):

Despite the media’s continued attempts to insinuate these two are an item, I believe they’re just friends. Cara/St. Vincent reunion for the win!

Cara Debuts The Trailer For Her Sci-Fi Flick Valerian

As I just mentioned, Valerian just premiered its trailer. I didn’t know trailer premieres were a thing, but okay.

Enjoy a snippet from the film below:

The bisexual actress gushed over the preview:

“I haven’t even seen the film yet. I’m dying! Every time I see a little bit, I’m just, like, salivating.”
The movie hits theaters on July 21.

Sarah Paulson Is Down To Play Donald Trump In American Horror Story

Photo: Instagram

If any woman can pull off playing Donald, it’s Sarah. Not only is the queer celeb a phenomenal actress, but she can also do wrong.

At PaleyFest over the weekend, the 42-year-old revealed her Trump aspirations for American Horror Story‘s election-themed seventh season:

“I’d like to play Donald Trump. If Donald Trump is going to be in a character in it … Why not? That’s an acting challenge to be sure.”
As for Paulson’s love life, she and Holland Taylor are STILL going strong:

… and magically all faith in humanity and love has been restored.

Halsey Talks To Rolling Stone About Her New Album

Photo: Instagram

If you recently endured a breakup, Halsey’s new album hopeless fountain kingdom is for you. The bisexual singer told Rolling Stone the project is all about a broken relationship and making sense of the fallout.

The artist revealed:

“The whole reason you make a record is to figure stuff out about yourself… I had killed off a version of myself just so we could make our love work. Sometimes you’re in a relationship for so long and you become a different person. You lose yourself because you change for that person… I put the seal on that relationship and fully purged myself of the feelings for that person at the same time as I finished my record.”
Well, there can never be too many breakup anthems IMO. The record drops June 2.

Pretty Little Liars Shares The First Clip From Its Final Season & Shay Mitchell Teases An “Emison” Spin-Off

Photo: Tumblr

Ah, good ole “A”. For almost a decade, fans of PLL have been promised A’s true identity only to be misled season after season. What we’re left with now is an “Uber A” and a prevailing sense that no one, including show runner Marlene King, knows what the fuck is going on.

Rant aside, the first sneak peek of the show’s final season has arrived:

Now onto the gay stuff! According to Alison (Sasha Pieterse) she and Emily (Shay Mitchell) will have sort of conclusion to their confusing relationship:

“It was really nice for us to kind of put a bow on Emison, and leave that special moment there. You’ll be really excited knowing what it is.”

I’ll believe it when I see it! My trust in the PLL writing team is dubious at best.

Ms. King added: “Alison sort of hasn’t dealt with her sexuality, and these [remaining] episodes are about Alison trying to figure out what her sexuality is – and Emily plays a big part of that.”

As for the possibility of a spin-off, Shay got coy and asked the audience at PaleyFest: “Would you guys be interested in seeing that?” According to a reporter, the crowd gave a resounding YES.

Lesbian YouTube Star Domo Gives Birth To Her Son

Photo: Instagram

Remember when I wrote about Domo getting shit for being pregnant? Apparently some people found the YouTuber too masculine and butch to be carrying a child, which is insane for a multitude of reasons. A few months after Domo shut down her haters with a poignant Instagram post, she and her partner Crissy welcomed a baby boy named Domonic Cristopher Wilson.

Photographer Samra Habib Spotlights The Queer Muslim Experience

Photo: Instagram

In case you missed it, March 27 marked the inaugural Muslim Women’s Day. To honor the important occasion, I’m bringing awareness to Nylon‘s coverage of Samra, a queer Muslim best known for her photo series “Just Me and Allah: A Queer Muslim Project“. The series, which has been ongoing since 2014, brings awareness to queer Muslims in North America and Europe.

Habib said of the project:

“What I try to do is give people platforms to actually tell their own unique stories and share exactly what their relationship with Islam is and how they arrived at this destination. Each individual is given the space to showcase their individuality, which I think is often times lacking because queer Muslims are typically grouped in a really homogenized way.”
Thanks for your amazing work, Samra.

LA Gay Club The Abbey Scores A Reality Series — Meet The Two Lesbian Characters

Photo: E!

What do you do when you love trashy reality TV yet abhor gay stereotypes? What Happens At The Abbey has recently forced me to confront this philosophical conundrum.

Essentially, the show is E!’s gay version of Vanderpump Rules. The show follows The Abbey’s “employees” as they navigate wanting to have sex with each other all the time, work drama, and the white noise of their lives.

From what I’ve gleaned from the trailer, there are two lesbian characters. The first gay gal (pictured on the right) is named Brandi and that’s her partner on the left:

Photo: E!

Brandi is planning on having a baby with her coworker Lawrence (pictured below). This is a story line I’m genuinely interested in — modern families are important.

That being said, there’s also an annoying story line about a lesbian server (Elizabeth Steinle) trying to flip her straight coworker:

Yup. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Watch the trailer below:

The series premieres May 18.

The end!!! Have the best gay weekend ever.
