Congrats to Abby and her new wife, Glennon Doyle Melton! Although it feels like Wambach and Melton just got engaged, the two made it official this past Sunday (5/14) in a beautiful ceremony. The lesbian athlete donned a burgundy (?) blazer with white pants while Glennon wore an exquisite gown for the occasion — check out some of the gorgeous pics below!

Oh, and Melton wrote the sweetest message about conquering her fears to find love with Abby:

Following up the heartfelt note, Wambach posted this gem:

It looks like Elizabeth Gilbert also attended the event:

Side note: let’s not forget Elizabeth found love with her best friend just last year. Lady love is everywhere you look!

Alia Shawkat Opens Up About Being Bisexual

Good news for Alia fans — the actress is bisexual! In a new interview for Out Magazine, the Arrested Development alum declared:

“I was a tomboy growing up, and I remember my mom asking me when I was 10, ‘Are you attracted to boys or girls?’ I said I don’t know. Now I consider myself bisexual, and I think balancing my male and female energies has been a big part of me growing as an actor.”
The 28-year-old also explained how America’s current political climate inspired her to be more “outspoken”:
“I co-wrote and star in a new film called Duck Butter, which opens later this year. I love that it was written for a man and a woman, but we couldn’t find the right guy, so now it happens to star two women [as lovers]. I used to be less outspoken. But as a woman, an Arab-American, and a member of the LGBTQ community, I have to use whatever voice I have. There’s no more delicacy in being quiet.”
Kudos to Shawkat. I look forward to see how the star’s sexuality influences her artistic and political work.

P.S. Anyone remember when Alia played Ilana Glazer’s lady love on Broad City? Memories!

Is Kristen Stewart Ready To Marry Stella Maxwell?

Gif: Daily Stella Maxwell

This. Escalated. Quickly. According to multiple reports, Stella and Kristen are ready to get married… just a week after it was confirmed the two moved in together.

A source dished:

“They started making vision boards and talking over outfits, but they’re in no rush. [They are] taking their time and enjoying planning something special.”
Alright — as soon as I read the part about “vision boards” I called BS on this story. I can’t for the life of me imagine K.Stew creating vision boards (no shade towards vision boards, btw) for a wedding with her girlfriend of less than a year. Anything is possible… but this is a hard image to conjure up.

Following the report, Gossip Cop debunked the rumor, stating:

“… Gossip Cop was dubious about the publication’s latest claim. Our doubts were confirmed after checking with a reliable source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us the actress and her girlfriend aren’t already discussing marriage or planning a wedding. Not only does OK! know very little about Stewart’s personal life, but the tabloid can’t seem to keep its stories straight.”
Well, there ya go. Keep the corks in your champagne for now, folks.

Portia De Rossi Joins Arrested Development Season 5

Gif: Tiny Pic

Okay, Portia’s departure from Scandal is starting to make sense.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed Arrested Development will return to Netflix for a fifth season. Although the show’s last revival received mediocre reviews, all the cast members (including de Rossi!) are returning for another go.

The show’s creator, Mitchell Hurwitz, released a pointed and snarky statement announcing the series’ return:

“In talks with Netflix we all felt that stories about a narcissistic, erratically behaving family in the building business – and their desperate abuses of power – are really underrepresented on TV these days.”
Touché, Michael.

As for the fine details, the show is slated to return in 2018 yet it’s still unclear how many episodes the season will have. Either way, it will be great to have the lesbian actress back on TV. I’ll keep you posted as new details unfold!

Dee Rees Is Making A Lesbian Horror Film

Patrick James Miller/Variety

I could not be more excited for this.

This week, it was announced Dee will direct a lesbian horror film to be produced by Get Out‘s Jason Blum. Considering Get Out was amazing on all fronts, I’m confident Ree’s movie is in good hands. Not to mention the lesbian director has already gifted us with critically-acclaimed films like Pariah, Bessie, and Mudbound.

According to Blum, Dee pitched the movie’s concept like this:

“You’ve got me and my wife, two black lesbians, and when we first moved in, we fought every day over all these little things: ‘Why is this over there? Did you move that?’ Maybe it was a ghost. Or maybe it was some other force – like us not wanting to be there or fitting in. Anyway, that’s my horror-movie pitch.”

Sold.

Following the great news, Rees gushed about working with Jason:

“I can’t tell you how rare it is that people mean what they say in this business. He’s just letting me make the best possible version of what I want to make.”

Officially starting the countdown until this blessed project drops.

Holland Taylor To Star In New TV Series

Photo: Twitter

Get ready for more Holland in your life. On August 9, the lesbian actress will star in an adaptation of Stephen King’s detective novel Mr. Mercedes. The plot follows a retired police detective who embarks on a hunt for a serial killer after he receives a series of taunting letters and emails. The full cast includes: Kelly Lynch, Jharrel Jerome, Scott Lawrence, Robert Stanton, Breeda Wool, Justine Lupe, Ann Cusack, and Mary Louise-Parker.

Although Taylor has been pretty mum on her new role, she did tweet about the show’s catering a few days ago:

Glad to see Cinema Catering is treating our icons right. Mr. Mercedes will air on AUDIENCE Network through DIRECTV.

Amber Heard Shares First Photo Of Herself As Aquaman‘s Mera

After months and months of teasing, Amber’s team finally released the first shot of the 31-year-old as Mera in the upcoming Aquaman movie. In the shot, Heard sports dripping wet red hair and a predictable cleavage baring getup. Check it out below:

Prior to the shot, the bisexual actress revealed May 18 marked the first day of filming after a year’s worth of prep:

The flick drops on December 21, 2018.

Raven SymonĂ© Shares Behind-The-Scenes Photo Of That’s So Raven Reboot

Photo: Instagram

That’s So Raven fans, rejoice! The beloved Disney show (re-titled Raven’s Home) is set to reboot on July 21, about eight months after Symone first announced the project. Ahead of the premiere, the lesbian actress shared the first behind-the-scenes snap of the cast filming (pictured above). As That’s So Raven historians might have already noticed, the actor who played Eddie (Orlando Thomas) will NOT be apart of the revival. Due to Brown’s recent erratic behavior (claiming to have gotten Raven pregnant, domestic abuse charges, and multiple arrests), he wasn’t asked to reprise his role.

Check out the full post below:

Although I’m indifferent to this reboot, I’m pleased Raven is no longer in a position to spout her head-scratching opinions on daytime TV AKA The View. Let’s just say I think the 31-year-old is much better suited to play a sassy psychic than she is to squabble about current events with Joy Behar.

Grey’s Anatomy Star Jessica Capshaw Reveals How Playing Arizona Changed Her Life

Gif: Zimbio

Grey’s Anatomy disciples, this one is for you!

On Thursday, Jessica talked to Yahoo Style about how playing a lesbian character AKA Arizona changed her life for the better. The actress explained:

“I never would have imagined that I would be able to play a character that would feel like it does so much good, whether it’s people who feel like the character resonates with them and it makes their day a little easier to see themselves represented. Or if it’s someone watching it who has someone in their life who is gay and they might have not understood it before and all of a sudden, they have another person or another thing to point to and say, ‘Oh that’s a different context.’ Being able to play a lesbian as a series regular on television has been enormously rewarding. My daughter goes to preschool, and the preschool has all kinds of families. And I guess one of the kids said, ‘You have to have a mom and a dad to have a baby.’ And my daughter said, ‘No. No you don’t.’ And this was all overheard and told to me later. She said, in a very kind and patient way to that child, ‘There can be a mom and a mom and a dad and a mom and there can be a dad and a dad.’ I am so grateful that she will never know any different, and it will only be if she is in the presence of people who are on the wrong side of history or small-minded that she will hear anything other than that. I feel grateful to have her living in a family that will put her out into the world as someone who understands the world a little bit.”

Very well-said!

The star also had this to say about her new on-screen relationship:

“There’s a lot of loss that transcends in themes with Arizona but I think this season gets to be more about finding what she loves and getting to be in a relationship that’s a little irreverent, to get to be chased by someone. She gets to feel the newness of being in a relationship that is physical that is not her ex. And that’s been really fun to play this season. It’s been nice and new and fresh… This year, my love interest is played by Marika Dominczyk. I’ve known her for quite a while, and she’s a good friend of mine – and married to Scott Foley, who is also a friend of mine. It’s a very interesting negotiation, but we had fun. We laughed a lot. And our husbands have definitely had a laugh or two over it.”

Full disclosure: I just started watching Grey‘s thanks to my girlfriend who’s a diehard fan, and I can say I fully support Arizona and Eliza’s relationship.

James Comey Saw Fun Home After He Was Fired By Donald Trump

Comey taking in a lesbian musical after he was unceremoniously fired by Trump must be a good sign for things to come, right?

If you’re obsessed with the Comey saga like I am, you will probably enjoy this little tidbit of info as much as I did. According to reports, the former FBI Director and his wife enjoyed a Saturday viewing of Alison Blechdel’s critically-acclaimed work amid all the recent controversy surrounding his departure from the White House.

Photo: Twitter

One of the touring producers said of Comey’s visit:

“Their daughter saw the tour in Chicago and told them they had to see it. They were wiping away the tears as they came backstage to meet the cast. He said something to the effect of it was the best thing they could have picked for their first outing. They both said they were really emotionally affected by the show. It’s awfully moving, but I would imagine doubly so at the end of a week like this. I was a little tongue-tied, and as they were leaving, I said, ‘Get home safe,’ as if I were his mom, and also as if he doesn’t know every F.B.I. agent in the country.”

Who knows, maybe Alison and James can team-up to create a new musical titled The Comey Memos. In 2017, anything is possible.

That’s it, lady lovin’ ladies! Catch y’all next week!
