Finally. Yvonne Strahovski is back on my TV. I’ve missed you, my love.
The fifth and final season of Chuck starts tonight – and I can’t wait. NBC actually did the right thing and gave this amazing show a chance to say goodbye in a way that will, we hope, make us smile through our tears.
The Season 4 finale set the stage for a new dynamic this year: Chuck (Zachary Levi), Sarah (Strahovski) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) got fired, but, conveniently, Chuck inherited enough money to set up an independent spy organization at Buy More.
NBC released a slightly spoilerish sneak peek this week; watch at your own risk. (And hear Yvonne’s incredibly hot Aussie accent.)

Strahovski talked to the press this week about some of the new aspects of Season 5.
How does Sarah like married life?
She’s adjusting well. I think she’s happy with the marriage between the spy life and the actual marriage … I think Chuck might be questioning it, whether the spy life feels right to him. … We’ll have to see where it goes.
Has the dynamic changed now that they have a private spy company?
It’s changed a lot, especially with Morgan having the Intersect. It kind of feels like Chuck and Sarah have a man-child they have to look after now. Originally, it was me looking after Chuck, and now it’s us together looking after Morgan. At the same time, Chuck not having the Intersect is also something that’s a little scary.
Do you know how the series will end?
I haven’t asked. I was trying to figure out why I haven’t asked, and I think it’s because I don’t know if I want to know. I think I just want to keep plodding along like we usually do, where they give us the script a week before we shoot it. … It keeps the element of surprise.
What’s your perfect ending for Chuck and Sarah?
It should be a happy ending. Maybe they all run away, like as a family, everyone, to a tropical island and just hang out there because they’ve made too many enemies.
