Afternoon Delight: Joan Jett still doesn’t want to talk about her love life

Happy birthday to Charlize Theron, Abbie Cornish, Brit Marling, Francesca Gregorini and Samantha Ronson! Orphan Black‘s Évelyne Brochu (“Delphine”) has signed on for the drama Tom at the Farm. The film is about “a grieving man that meets his lover’s family, who were not aware of their son’s sexual orientation.”

Felicity Jones will guest star on the third season of HBO’s Girls.

Joan Jett is featured in the latest issue of LA Weekly. When asked about the media’s interest in her sexual preference, the out rocker said, “I’m not comfortable talking about everything I do. I like boundaries. It kind of extends into music. You want to talk about music, we’ll talk music. You want to know about my love life, I don’t discuss that. My lyrics speak for themselves.”

Actress Kristen Bell says she’s planning on getting “gay-married” to her baby daddy Dax Shephard. I don’t think Bell understands the meaning of the word “gay.”

Queerty thinks comedian iconic Lucille Ball was a gay rights activist. During Ball’s 1980 interview (33 years ago!) with People magazine, she commented on the LGBT community and said, “It’s perfectly all right with me. Some of the most gifted people I’ve ever met or read about are homosexual. How can you knock it?”
