Morning Brew – Mon. June 10: Lesbian pirates coming to our TVs, Jane Lynch performs on The Tonys

Good morning! After last night’s season finale, I’m sorry to say that this entire season of Game of Thrones was devoid of any lesbian content. I’m sorry if that was a spoiler, but I felt like you should know.

Did you catch Jane Lynch on The Tony Awards last night? She did her Miss Hannigan and, well, it was amazing.

The New York Times claims Lindsay Lohan is writing Samantha Ronson from rehab in hopes of getting her back. Consider the source.

Stephanie Hunt who played lesbian Devon on Friday Night Lights was part of the show’s reunion at the ATX Television Festival this weekend.

This will probably be forever be my favorite photo that The L.A. Times has ever run. F yeah Dykes on Bikes!

Nike has some really sweet new rainbow kicks in the name of equality. I’d wear them!

Jes on Mistresses haven’t even lezzed out and producer Rina Mimoun is telling people not to get too ahead of themselves.

I’m so fascinated by the way it’s being perceived as a lesbian story line because, to me, it was the most heartbreaking in that it’s about someone who’s just so desperate to make a connection with somebody and she’s never actually had it. The first time she feels it happens to be with a woman, even though her own sexuality is decidedly not gay.

Rina, we call it a lesbian storyline because it involves at least one lesbian and a burgeoning relationship between two women. We are not calling your clearly bisexual Jes a lesbian. Promise.

The out lesbian who heckled Michelle Obama last week penned a piece for The Washington Post explaining her actions. An excerpt:

As a gray-haired, 56-year-old lesbian, I don’t have time to wait another generation for equality — it’s been almost 40 years since similar legislation to ENDA was first introduced in Congress. And being polite hasn’t gotten us any closer to it becoming a reality.

Model Bar Refaeli tweeted her support of the LGBT community as she celebrated Gay Week in Tel Aviv. Bar, many lesbians support you as well.

Speaking of models saying gayish things, Miranda Kerr has a “girl crush” on Angelina Jolie. There is a really long line you’re going to have to get in with that one, Miranda.

In a bizarre Dana Fairbanks kind of twist, singer Charice‘s mom has come out to say she is a former lesbian, and her grandma admits to forcing her to snap out of it and marry a dude. This is a really interesting family!

In some of the best news ever, it looks like there will be lesbian pirates on Black Sails, which is coming to our TVs in January 2014. AE reader Amaya tipped us off to this Starz series and the character of Max, played by Jessica Parker Kennedy, who is the brunette on the end of the lesbian kiss in the trailer below.

Sign me up! Is it January yet?
