Julie Benz moves faster than ever in her new show

If you think Julie Benz moved quickly with Dana Delany in Desperate Housewives, wait until you see her new pilot.

In No Ordinary Family, Benz plays Stephanie, a gifted scientist who develops super speed. Her husband Jim, played by Michael Chiklis, is a police artist who develops superpowers. I hope he’s a nicer guy than he was in The Shield.

Also starring are Autumn Reeser, best known as Taylor Townsend in The O.C., and Christina Chang, most recently of 24 and Private Practice.

We don’t know a lot about the storyline at this point, but a sneak preview of the script at BleedingCool.com shows No Ordinary Family to be more like The Incredibles than Heroes — a good thing in my book.

Greg Berlanti, the out gay man responsible for Everwood, Dirty Sexy Money and Brothers & Sisters, created No Ordinary Family, so we have good reason to hope for a little gay along the way. Personally, I think Chang would make an excellent Super Lesbian.

Are you exited about No Ordinary Family? Would you prefer a sci-fi twist or more of a comedy?
