One of our favorite bisexual women, Miley Cyrus, has dropped a new album just in time for summer and it is by far one of her greatest works. The amazing success Cyrus has had since “Flowers” dropped speaks for itself – but is Endless Summer Vacation truly her game changer?
Cyrus has had one hell of a career; from Hannah Montana to Bangerz to ESV, Cyrus knows how to rebrand and experiment like no other, and that brings about more criticism than most deal with. Cryus also went through an extremely public divorce where the public assumed that she cheated and lied, when it was actually the opposite. ESV tells Cyrus’ story with her ex with such raw, visual emotion. From the 14 men being in her River music video representing the 14 women her ex cheated on her with to her buying herself flowers, Cyrus has put out her most vulnerable album to date.
While a lot of the album is about Cyrus and her relationship with her male ex, there are a couple of nods towards her sapphic relationships as well. “Rose Colored Lenses” is allegedly about her ex-girlfriend Kaitlin, who has mentioned in interviews that the two were wearing “rose colored lenses” while they were together. Cyrus says it best, the album is hers and could only be hers. ESV heads towards alternative pop as far as genre, and Cyrus has been officially deemed a pop-star. Although, many fans of the southern singer say that her voice was actually made for Rock n Roll – referring specifically to her “Angels Like You” song she sings with such raw tenacity.
Whatever your opinion on Cyrus, can we at least all agree her vocals are insane?! Always ahead of her time, Cryus writes and evolves her music with every lyric. “Flowers” has been at #1 on the Billboard charts for weeks, she is rumored to be headlining the Super Bowl halftime show, and is shortlisted for a Grammy. If you are a Cyrus fan, you know how huge this is for her; so huge in fact, she is not even mentally ready to tour and probably won’t be. Always unapologetically herself, and we love to see it.
