The L Word Generation Q: Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

Make sure you know what’s going on by checking out the recap for episode six here. Okay, you good? Let’s dig into episode seven.

Finley’s freaking out about the break up. She’s worried she’s going to drink and her go-to supports, Tess and Shane, are out of town. Now I’m worried because I don’t know where she’s going to go and I want only good things for Fin. Gals, I am so proud of her right now. Finley calls Carrie. Great choice, baby girl. Keep doing the next right thing.

Reunited and Alice is stoked.

Tom shows up at the Alice Show set. Ahhhhhhh! What?! Is this who she texted? He is actually oblivious but the chemistry between Alice and Tom is undeniable.

Wallowing is all Finley really wants to do (I feel that,) but Carrie is committed to helping her buddy cope positively and gets Fin to come alone to her bowling league. I really appreciate this friendship dynamic.

That look on Dani’s face 😉

Dre is trying to win Dani over by being a good little client. I mean, make it work and go after what you want and all that, yeah? Dani’s too damn hot for Dre to not be interested.

It turns out the event Dani is working (and where she has summoned Dre to mingle) is a Fletcher concert. No lesbian could actually watch this episode and not get hyped about that — it’s in our DNA or something. So, yeah: Fletcher! Sophie shows up to said event looking all femme and trying to woo Dre. She’s shut down quickly; Dre isn’t into it because she’s chasing Dani.

Finley just trying to help her buddy out.

With good intentions, Finley gets into Carrie’s business and tells her crush that Carrie is into her. Misty (said crush,) says Carrie is obviously great but that she’s not her type. Carrie overhears this and is not at all amused by Finley’s meddling.

Not how we expected this scene to go — but, um, Alice has a new cat. So, yeah.

Back on the Alice set, Tom and Alice are trying to rescue a kitten from the air duct in Alice’s office. Maybe this is a big city thing? Does this happen? Because it seems far fetched. Mostly, they just use the situation to be cute and interplay with what Alice wonders out loud: “Did we miss it? … Us? Did we miss something real? Should we try again? Is that crazy?” Okay yeah, Tom is definitely the recipient of the mystery text and I, for one, think they should try again. I have always had a soft spot for Tom. There won’t be a sweet happy ending/new beginning in this episode though because Tom is seeing someone and, get this — she’s pregnant with his baby. Welp.

Angie is living and learning.

Angie went away with her teacher on some trip to a reading of his book and had sex with him. No coercion involved but, regardless, ew. She’s enamored and maybe in love and I’m worried for her. The concern is immediately justified because an hour or so after she loses her virginity to this guy, he introduces her as “one of his students,” and her face crumples. Bro slept with her, getting what he wanted, and NOW he’s going to take a stand saying “but you’re my student and we can’t be together.” Bette didn’t raise anybody’s bitch though and Angie, without skipping a beat, basically said ‘F off and I’m out.’ Yes, baby queen!

Fletcher “Fletchering”

Fletcher is performing “Becky’s So Hot,” and Sophie’s drunk self falls right into the pool… after some, well some stuff. This is her messy era, it appears. Dani helps drunk Sophie while her sister and Micah look on. Wtf? Why is Dani stuck dealing with drunk Sophie? At least Sophie stops being a jerk and gives Dani the greenlight to go for Dre.

Drunk messy Sophie gets helped out of the pool. Girl, Dani shouldn’t need to do this shit for you.

Back in the venue after sending Sophie home in an uber, Dani finds Fletcher to say, “I’m so, so sorry. That was incredibly unprofessional of me. My ex kissed two people she shouldn’t have and then fell into the pool.” Fletcher is nonchalant about it all, telling Dani, “Honestly, it’s the kind of Sapphic chaos I live for.” Fletcher owning her love of messy is my favorite because self awareness is hot.

This cute little make-shift family 😊

Ending episode six on a high note, Misty shows up at Carrie’s house on the pretense of returning Carrie’s bowling bag. What she really wants to say though, is she does like Carrie and she needed to see her and let her know. Finley really did Carrie a solid after all with her matchmaker intervention, because these two shy ladies just needed a little push. Fin even hooks these two up with a homemade romantic dinner. It’s so endearing to have a butch-for-butch couple on the show now. It’s also charming to see Finley doing so well with the support of Carrie, who’s like her mom and friend rolled into one and Finley gives back instead of just taking in this relationship.

I didn’t have to see Tess’s face once this episode and I loved it. I guess we have lots of room to see Shane and Tess again next episode unless we are lucky and they stay in Las Vegas for a little minute. I know that Bette and Tina reconciling was a strategic take to move Bette out of view and let the new characters on The L Word: Generation Q take over the screen time. Could they have the same intention for Shane? Time will tell.
