Netflix’s RATCHED Features Two Leading Lesbians

RATCHED is a new Netflix show that premieres this September starring Sarah Paulson and Cynthia Nixon in leading roles! The show follows asylum nurse Mildred Ratched, played by Sarah Paulson, and was adapted from the character in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. As an added bonus, the 8-episode series was developed and written by the creator of American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy. What more could you ask for? *swoons*

The series follows Mildred Ratched as she tried to find employment at an asylum in California, which we know she does. However, this asylum is particularly interesting as a lot of weird things begin to go down. The asylum is known for performing experiments on the human mind. Gasp!

Mildred seems like a well-to-do woman; she’s totally normal, nothing extraordinary about her. While working at the asylum, however, Mildred seems to always have her wheels turning. Mildred begins to evolve and become darker and darker, revealing that the monster insideher was created by her environment. She is no longer totally normal, after all.

The series stars Sarah Paulson, who also acted as a producer, as Mildred Ratched and Cynthia Nixon as Gwendolyn Briggs and our lesbian hearts are READY! RATCHED drops on Netflix on September 18th and will include 8 suspenseful and drama-filled episodes, prepared perfectly for you to binge.
