New H&M ad celebrates “ladies” of all kinds

H&M has released an ad for its new autumn collection and it’s one of the most inclusive campaigns the queer-friendly fast fashion retail giant has ever had. Among the women included are legendary actress Lauren Hutton, Transparent star Hari Nef, model Adwoa Aboah, Design Army’s Pum Lefebure and musician Jillian Hervey of Lion Babe who covered Tom Jones’ “She’s a Lady” to accompany the visuals.

The campaign is all about being “#ladylike” and it seems that H&M wants to highlight all kinds of “ladies” that we don’t usually see represented in fashion, and challenging the ideals of what ladies wear. If you’re among those who don’t really enjoy being referred to as a lady, it may not be for you, but it’s nice to see the brand moving in a progressive direction that invites LGBTs, WOC and bodies of all sizes and ages to play starring roles.
