The L Word: Generation Q Season 3 Episode 3 Recap

You can find the previous episode recaps here: episode 1 & episode 2.

Episode three opens to Gigi in the ambulance. Our babe is alive! But wait — Nat is the one with her who’s fawning over her with doe eyes. Yeah, this accident and brush with death isn’t going to help Dani find a secure spot in Gigi’s family structure with Nat and the kids. It might just push her out entirely.

Dani comforts Gigi

Nat is kissing Gigi, who’s strapped down and in a neck brace. WHAT?! Dani climbs into the ambulance, narrowly missing the kissing scene. I guess it sucks not to be the emergency contact. Nat scurries off and leaves Dani to accompany Gigi to the hospital. This dynamic is so weird.

Alice meets a new cutie at the coffee cart (Joey Lauren Adams) on set, and she looks like she’s vibin’.

Really dedicated to getting her shit together, Finley is looking at a college application. She’s interrupted by Shane who asks if she wants to go “break some shit” at the new bar. What proceeds is the funniest lesbian sledgehammer demo dance scene I have ever seen. Oh, and Tess is being a super asshole to Shane who has basically given up her whole life and house to Tess. I’m so over their whole thing. I’ve been over it.

The best L Word Generation Q scene yet

Gigi is staying at Dani’s to recover. Dani is rushing out the door for work and letting Gigi know when her car will arrive to pick her up for Alice’s big 100th episode show. There’s an unexpected knock at the door. It’s Nat… who Gigi called… to help her get ready. Oh snap.

Nat downplays the kiss to Gigi and doesn’t want to talk about it. “It was nothing,” Nat says. Which means it was something. I called it — this is going nowhere good.

Like an absolute delusional crazy, Sophie tries to invite Dani and Gigi over to have dinner with her and Finley. LOL, Sis really? You think Dani is into that? Sophie seems like she really has her head in the clouds this season.

Angie discovers that the guy she kissed at the gallery show is one of her professors. Um, this is gross. He’s being too friendly about it.

Ivy (Kehlani) is back! It looks like she’s a makeup artist/ hairdresser or something of that sort on Alice’s show. “You don’t want to hang back here? This is where all the fun is.” she playfully entices Shane. Spicy. I like it.

Why does Gigi keep making fuck me eyes while sitting with Nat at Alice’s show? My question is quickly answered when Gigi confesses that when she got hit by the other driver, Nat and the kids were what flashed before her eyes, “my family,” she emphasizes.

Carrie (Rosie O’Donnell” is back, despite breaking up with Tina. It turns out Tess is Carrie’s sponsor after that bender she had last season. She’s in a bad way since she found out that Bette and Tina got back together. Oh, and there’s a butch plumber on the show and they bump into eachother — you’ll see. I think they like each other.

Our gal Gigi is flirting with Nat while Nat pretends that the ambulance kiss meant nothing. Oh Please, Nat! We know it did! It looks like Nat finally drops the facade though and scooches closer.

What the hell is happening here?!

Dani peeks out from backstage to see Nat and Gigi in the audience, holding hands while Nat rubs her leg and they are all cuddled up on a loveseat together. What the fuck? They can’t even wait until they aren’t at an event where Gigi’s working. That is some gross disrespect.

Shane took the bait and is hanging backstage with Ivy and looks very interested. The eyes are a giveaway and then we go a step further when Shane looks Ivy up and down as she tells her to “get back on the horse,” as they talk about Ivy’s job. Mmm hmm, I see where this is going. I vote yes.

Coffee cart lady, Taylor, was in the right place at the right time. Alice is finding a date on her show, and one of the potential suitors backed out last minute and now Taylor is the fill in.

Alice is looking for a new love

Margaret Cho makes an appearance as herself, to host the dating bit. Alice is in the hot seat interviewing the admirers.

Gigi decides to leave the show early “I just really wanna get back.” She tells Dani not to worry about giving her a ride home because Nat is going to. Dani finally sees the writing on the wall and gets heated. Let’s go, Sis!

In a heartwarming scene Finley and Carrie encourage each other to grow positively out of their comfort zones and I am so here for it.

Shane bangs Ivy in the storage room on set. I think she really missed the real thing.

Shane goes full Shane on Ivy

Gigi can’t decide who she wants to be with after the accident and says she needs time to figure it out. Dani says she’s done. Good girl, Dani. Women need to stop fucking you over.

Alice picks Taylor as her date of choice. This is an adorable meet-cute situation.

I love the on-a-rampage version of Dani

Gigi is upset that Dani broke up with her, even though she was the one who said she might want to get back with her ex wife and mother of her children. Really Gigi? You didn’t think it might go this way? My favorite part is when Dani comes out and throws oranges at Nat’s car while Gigi and Nat sit inside.

Dani’s back with the gang and I have a lot of weird feelings about it

In a weird twist, Sophie tries to comfort Dani. And then Dani accepts the invite over to Sophie’s. What the heck?
